Smart Glass for Windows
Smart glass for windows means the whole window switches — not a film added on top. Laminated, insulated glass units that go in as replacements or in new construction, clear for the view and frosted for privacy on demand.

"Smart glass for windows" can mean two different things, and the difference matters for your project. This page is about the first one: the window itself being switchable glass. (If you want to switch windows you already have, that's smart film instead.)
Switchable glass, fabricated as a real window
Smart glass for windows is a complete laminated glass unit with a PDLC switchable layer sealed inside. Power it on and it's clear for the view; power it off and it's evenly frosted for privacy — in under a second, with no blinds, curtains, or moving parts. Because it's built as glass, it replaces a window one-for-one rather than sitting on top of one. Here's how the switching works.
Replacement or new construction
- Replacement windows. We measure your existing openings and fabricate switchable units to match, so you swap a plain window for a smart one without changing the wall.
- New construction & remodels. Working from your drawings and window schedule, we plan the glass and its concealed low-voltage wiring into the design from the start — the cleanest possible result.
Residential and commercial
The same approach covers a bathroom or street-facing window at home and a full elevation of conference-room or storefront glass for a commercial building. For exterior openings we build the switchable layer into an insulated, laminated unit so it performs as a genuine window. For models with certified thermal numbers, see our smart glass picture windows.
